The Doors, one of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the 1960s, were formed in Los Angeles in 1965 by UCLA film students Ray Manzarek, keyboards, and Jim Morrison, vocals; with drummer John Densmore and guitarist Robby Krieger. The group never added a bass player, and their sound was dominated by Manzarek’s electric organ work and Morrison’s deep, sonorous voice, with which he sang and intoned his highly poetic lyrics. The group signed to Elektra Records in 1966 and released its first album, The Doors, featuring the hit “Light My Fire,” in 1967. –Allmusic

Hoy traigo al cenáculo musical un set de bootlegs inéditos no publicados ni editados nunca antes, en algunos incluso los he tenido que reparar y de hecho vienen en una única pista (menos Young). No puedo decir las fuentes de donde los he obtenido porque es una fuente del sumergible que no queremos poner muy a la vista aunque puede acceder cualquiera a ella realmente. Para el live de Yardbirds hemos usado dos cuadros de un artista colaborador del sumergible y amigo nuestro, Iván "ganando billete". El live de yardbirds es el que más dañado esta de ahí lo de cacofonic blues pero se puede llegar a disfrutar de él no esta tan dañado y además lo he reparado bastante y renderizado en Flac, os comento detalles del flac, si tienes un mp3 en baja calidad y lo pasas a flac no quiere decir que se vaya a oir mejor de hecho lo más seguro es que se oiga hasta peor pero en este caso tras una buena ecualización y limpieza ha quedado en flac mejor, como si le hubiéramos metido un poco de relleno entre algodones de información y eso es debido también al tipo de flac que renderiza nero wave editor que lo deja bastante bien, es un caso excepcional. La grabación original tiene el fallo de que ya venía "reparada" de la web y el tio que la reparo le metió un fitro de ruido predeterminado de algún programa de audio que hizo mas mal que bien así que bueno tuve que corregir incluso eso para que no notéis nada raro, algunos temas se oyen mejor y otros peor, pero se oye.

*Un detalle importante al escuchar y mezclar este tipo de material es usar equipos y cascos de no muy alta gamma, sino se escucha fatal en equipos mediocres se escucha mejor, le quita defectos en serio xDD

A final con este de Iron Butterfly hice operación parecida a con the yardbirds, ecualice y renderice en Flac, en este caso no se oía tan mal no hacía falta repararlo pero le he metido una ecualización que le saca mucha más dinámica a la señal y mas definición sin llegar a clipear.

This particular EP, no. 30 in the consecutive series to which we've devoted so much love and attention, is really the brainchild of someone called Pavel Kralicek, who doesn't seem to appear in many places otherwise.  I would love to know I'm wrong about that.  Also appearing is the Czech Radio Ostrava Orchestra, aka Flamingo who was backup for my Maria Rottrova through the seventies.  Small world.

So what about the music?
Well, it's amazing, and it's tragic that this is all we have, from these fusion masters.  Would be wonderful if it turned out there's a full length album from Alternativa missing from the database.  The only possible misstep, surprisingly, is the inclusion of a M. Urbaniak track called Komar, which panders to a more commercial easy sound.  Apparently the ever-irritating Urszula Dudziak is performing the vocals on there too, with those bizarre chirping noises that never fail to make my kids laugh if by misfortune they overhear it on the car stereo.

The first track, apologies for getting tricked into buying a vinyl that wasn't at all near mint as advertised:





Here the sound is most similar to the recent Martin Kratochvil and the great Jazz Q, with the fantastic interplay between acoustic and synthesizer keyboards building up to that beautiful electric fusionary energy.  Just as good, in fact.

A great addition to the collection, altogether, and I'm sure everyone will agree with that.

Las fuerzas de "seguridad" atropellan la legalidad mientras pierden definitivamente el juicio: la Policía de la Ciudad golpeó y tiró gas pimienta a niños, niñas y adolescentes entre 13 y 18 años, en un desborde ilegal de violencia, que incluyó golpes y uso de gas pimienta contra niños, niñas y adolescentes entre 13 y 18 años, una vez más la Policía de la Ciudad atropelló la legalidad y el sentido común. Se pasó, en minutos, de una tarde normal en el cambio de turno de una escuela secundaria a una situación dantesca que dejó a personal educativo, una madre y una alumna con golpes de diversa intensidad, personas afectadas por los gases (entre ellas una niña de 13 años), un fuerte shock emocional en el estudiantado y la sensación de que las fuerzas de seguridad han perdido definitivamente el rumbo y el juicio.

La Asamblea de Familias del Pelle (Escuela Superior de Comercio Carlos Pellegrini - UBA) repudia en los términos más enérgicos, y con profunda consternación, el accionar policial perpetrado el viernes 9 de noviembre de 2018 por efectivos de la fuerza en la puerta de la institución, en horario de clases y en plena circulación de chicos en la vía pública.

Estando en la zona de incumbencia de la Escuela y sin ninguna consideración por el entorno, el personal policial omitió seguir los protocolos de actuación vigentes para niñas, niños o adolescentes; evitó dar inmediata intervención a los organismos competentes —como lo establece la ley 26.061—, y se negó a colaborar con la institución educativa para evaluar la situación y obrar preservando el interés superior de los estudiantes. Lejos de ello, la Policía redobló el uso de la fuerza, desenfundando armas de fuego que provocaron pánico a los alumnos, sumando efectivos y repartiendo golpes a diestra y siniestra.
Este comportamiento, además de ser ilegal, brutal y lesivo de nuestros hijos, es francamente siniestro y trae a nuestra memoria la imperdonable violencia de Estado en el período más terrible de nuestra historia.
El despliegue de brutalidad policial en una situación de absoluta calma en la puerta de la Escuela contrasta fuertemente con la ausencia de la Policía para evitar los robos y acosos que sufren los estudiantes en las inmediaciones —convertidos en zona liberada para el hurto—, y que las familias venimos denunciando en vano en la Comisaría.

Asimismo, expresamos nuestro enérgico rechazo a la manipulación tendenciosa de estos hechos por parte de los comunicadores de los medios masivos, que además de divulgar ilícitamente filmaciones de menores de edad sin su consentimiento, construyen una imagen desvirtuada del alumnado y de las autoridades escolares para promover el desprestigio de las instituciones de educación pública y para legitimar la violencia policial.
Por todo lo dicho, reiteramos nuestro repudio, exigimos una respuesta política de las autoridades competentes, que la Policía de la Ciudad respete los protocolos y las leyes vigentes en relación al trato a menores, que se investiguen los hechos y se tomen las medidas necesarias con el personal policial que hizo un abusivo uso de la fuerza, sin perjuicio de iniciar las acciones de amparo y actuaciones a que tengamos derecho ante la justicia.

Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, R. Dean Taylor made his first entry into the world of music at the age of 12, singing at various open-air Country & Western shows in the Toronto area.  

In 1960 he recorded his first record, "At the High School Dance," which played across Canada and on CHUM Radio, Toronto' s power-house radio station.  He appeared on a CBC dance party TV show and started playing clubs and other venues around the Toronto area and toured the States for a short time.

Dean went to New York in 1962 and cut four sides which were distributed on the AMY- MALA label: "I'll Remember," "It's A Long Way to St. Louis," "We Fell In Love As We Tangoed," and "Beautiful Dreamer"

In 1963 a friend from Detroit called him about a newspaper article featuring an up-an-coming record company called Motown Records and said he could arrange an audition.  Dean was fortunate enough to meet with Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier of Motown's top producing team, Holland, Dozier, Holland.  They liked his material and Dean was immediately signed as a writer and artist for the label. Dean started working with Eddie Holland, sitting for hours tossing ideas back and forth and coming up with lyrics for many of the Holland/Dozier hits.  

…Eddie was a fantastic writer, he could write from a woman's point of view as well as a man's, and I really learned a lot from working with him.  I wanted to learn everything I could about producing and started playing tambourine on the Holland/Dozier sessions.  I played on most of their records, such as "Standing In the Shadows of Love," "Reach Out," and many more.  Seeing the innovative way Brian and Lamont used new sounds in their productions, such as footstomps on an old board as the intro on "Where Did Our Love Go" and many other gimmick sounds, was an inspiration.  Watching Holland/Dozier produce, and playing with those great musicians now referred to as The Funk Brothers, was more than I could have ever hoped for.

As a writer, Taylor's credits include such hits as "Love Child" and "I'm Living In Shame" by the Supremes, "All I Need" by the Temptations, "I'll Turn To Stone" by the Four Tops, and "Just Look What You've Done" by Brenda Holloway.

Dean recorded his own record, "Let's Go Somewhere" in 1965, a subtle war protest song, but not much happened.  In 1966 he recorded "There's A Ghost In My House."  but f

ound out from a friend that there was little or no promotion on the record since they were concentrating on promoting the established Motown acts.  Four years later in England, a club DJ started playing "There's A Ghost in My House" and it became popular.  Other dance clubs picked up on the record and Motown UK released it as a single, and it went to the top of the charts in England and throughout Europe.

"Gotta See Jane," written in 1967 on a rainy drive to Toronto, became another English hit but received no promotion in US.  

In 1970, Dean recorded "Indiana Wants Me" which he always felt would be a hit record.  Two radio stations broke the record in the States.  Disk jockey, Scott Regen, believed the record was a hit and fought to get the record played on WKNR in Detroit.  At the same time, program director, Rosalie Trombley put the record on the powerful CKLW playlist in Windsor, Ontario.   Dean went to Motown Vice President, Barney Ayles, and asked him if he could put some heavy promotion behind this record.  Ayles knew it was getting airplay and the record was getting positive feedback so he agreed to hire an independent promotion man, Al Valente, to go out with Taylor on a promo tour to stations, large and small, in the Michigan area.  More and more stations began playing "Indiana" and  Barney told the Motown promotion department to get behind it. Dean also appeared on CKLW's The Robin Seymour TV Show a number of times.  "Indiana Wants Me" became a million-seller and climbed to #1 on the US charts, making R. Dean Taylor the first white artist in the history of Motown to do so.

Dean's songs continue to receive International airplay and have been covered by several artists.  Currently, Dean has built a recording studio in his home in Los Angeles and is working on a new CD and writing a book about his Motown memories.
